Installation trouble and will not start

I have tried to install this server using a few methods that fail

Copilot command /plugin install microsoftdocs/mcp "failed to locate the exact name pair" and suggests alternatives.

Extension search for @mcp learn fails to return any results

I installed it directly from extensions when searching for full name, however it would not start with the following messages returned:

Hi Kyle, thanks for reporting and sorry to hear about your experience. On this side, everything looks available. A few things to check:

• Are you on a corporate network or VPN?
• Do you have proxy settings in VS Code (http.proxy, http.proxyStrictSSL)?
• Can you open https://learn.microsoft.com/api/mcp in a browser? (should return 405 Method Not Allowed)
• You could even test with MCP Inspector https://modelcontextprotocol.io/docs/tools/inspector
