Iris Codex Pet

An open-source animated companion for Codex: Iris, a cheerful manga-pop character living inside a stationary chunky terminal window.

Features

• chunky terminal frame with the red, yellow, and green window-dot easter egg
• neon bob haircut, blue spiral eyes, choker, laptop, and coffee mug
• idle, directional movement, greeting, heart gesture, excited bounce, facepalm, waiting, working, and review animations
• continuous two-hand typing while the user waits for the agent to finish working
• 16 clockwise gaze directions
• Codex pet sprite contract v2 (8 × 11, 192 × 208 cells)

Install

Clone the repository, then copy the two runtime files into your Codex pets directory:

git clone https://github.com/Yau-427/iris-codex-pet.git
mkdir -p ~/.codex/pets/iris
cp iris-codex-pet/pet.json iris-codex-pet/spritesheet.webp ~/.codex/pets/iris/

Restart Codex, or switch to another pet and back to Iris if it was already selected.

Package

The installable pet consists only of:

• pet.json — Codex pet manifest with spriteVersionNumber: 2
• spritesheet.webp — transparent 1536 × 2288 animation atlas

The art/ and previews/ folders are documentation assets and are not required at runtime.

Released under the MIT License. The artwork and animation assets are included under the same license to the extent the contributors hold rights in them.
